Parks and Facilities:
SHADY REST PARK-Shady rest park is located at the end of Sawmill Cutoff Rd, approximately one half mile from Main Street and is open until November 1st. The park offers playground equipment, sheltered picnic area, restrooms, sand volleyball courts, softball fields, soccer fields, a concession stand, and a small skate park. Great place to take the kids to burn off the extra energy.
MAMMOTH CREEK PARK-Mammoth Creek Park is located on Old Mammoth Rd. and is open from spring to fall. The park offers large playground equipment, a play area designed for toddlers and school age children, restrooms, picnic tables, and access to Mammoth Creek. Stop by here at 4th of July or for Art in the Park.
WHITMORE SWIMMING POOL-The Whitmore Pool is located on Benton Crossing Rd (just pass the green church). The outdoor aquatic facility has stunning views of the Glass, White and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges. The facility includes a six lane 25-meter pool, a children's wading pool, restrooms, hot showers, a lawn area, a shade structure and vending machines. The pool is open from mid May through September and the facilities are available by reservation for private use. Phone number is 760-935-4222
WHITMORE BALL FIELDS-Teh Whitmore Recreation area is located 10 miles south of Mammoth, just off U.S. Highway 395 on Benton Crossing Road. Facilities include a regulation baseball diamond, two softball fields (one lighted) and restrooms.
COMMUNITY CENTER AND PARK-The community center includes a park, 6 tennis courts, new playground equipment, picnic area and inside meeting room. The community center offers fun work out classes, karate, children's play groups and more.
Winter Recreation:
SNOWMOBILING-Miles of snow covered roads and play areas open to snowmobilers in the Mammoth and Mono Lake areas. A variety of terrain, from wide open meadows to forested areas, challenges a beginer and the expert. Snowmobile centers in the Mammoth area provide snowmobile rentals, guided trips, and operating instructions. Call 760-934-2712 or go to www.VisitMammoth.com. MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN- One of the most unique mountains with miles of terrain and some of the best snow in America. Ski and snowboard lessons available and great ski events every season. Be sure to check out the night of lights and the pond skim. Visit www.MammothMountain.com for more information.
MAMMOTH LAKES ICE RINK-The Mammoth Lakes Ice Rink is an outdoor facility that offers public skating sessions, hockey clinics, and special events. Visit www.townofmammothlakes.com for more information.
SLEDZ-If you're after a Super Slide, then Sledz just up Minaret Road is the place. Just above The Village this fun park has real grooming equipment to make fun runs. They are open during daylight hours 10AM - 5PM, and offer a groomed run where tubers can bump their way till their sides ache from laughter. The cost is $25.00 per hour, per person. Cash only. They do not take credit cards at all. You can also have private parties here and sometimes if the weather is just right you can come tubing at night!! Summer Recreation:
